K-5 Literacy
The Standards
The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for reading, writing, listening, speaking, and language provide the learning targets for our instruction. Students must learn to read, write, speak, listen, and use language effectively in a variety of content areas, the standards promote the literacy skills and concepts required for college and career readiness in multiple disciplines.
Appropriate and effective teaching strategies are implemented in our district to build student skills in:
